QUAYS
• Is a solid wharf or reinforced bank where ships are
loaded or unloaded.

• is an artificial wall or bank, usually of stone, made


toward the sea or at the side of a harbor or river for
convenience in loading and unloading vessels

• usually refers to an artificial embankment lying along or


projecting from a shore and mainly used for loading and
unloading

situated upstream from the
mouth of the 
Singapore River on its
southern bank. It spans
from the shophouses near
UOB Centre, stretching
along one bank of the
Singapore River, all the way
till Elgin Bridge.
