 Newspaper

A newspaper is a very good source of news

reports. It brings the latest information about
people, places, and events.

It also contains opinions, feature articles, stories,

comic strips, advertisements, games, and puzzles.

News and other items in the newspaper are not put

together in one page, but printed separately in
specific sections.
 Types of Newspaper /Newspaper format
1. Broadsheet - A broadsheet is the largest newspaper format and is characterized
by long vertical pages, typically of 22.5 inches. Larger newspapers, traditionally
associated with higher-quality journalism, are called broadsheets, even if the
newspaper is now printed on smaller pages.

2. Tabloid / Compact - is a newspaper with a compact page size smaller

than broadsheet.

● The term tabloid journalism refers to an emphasis on such topics as

sensational crime stories, astrology, celebrity gossip and television, and is not
a reference to newspapers printed in this format. Some small-format papers
with a high standard of journalism refer to themselves as compact
 newspapers..

the newspaper. The title of the most
important news is printed in big bold
letters. It is called banner headline.

Part of this section contains news from other

or foreign countries.
4. Editorial page / section

● Printed in this section are

articles called editorials.
