There are two types of official Operating
units -

• BBP Customer Operating Unit - COUs

engage with customers. They are
responsible for –
• Onboarding agent institutions and agents
to engage with end customers.
• Providing user interface/ application to the
agents and customers
• Settlement of funds with biller Operating

• BBP Biller Operating Unit – BOUs

engage with billers and sub-billers They

Onboarding Process
1. Check Eligibility Criteria
• Technical infrastructure to integrate with bank
• Previous experience in the business for minimum 1 year with other bank
• Minimum 5000 customer touch points in their distribution channel
• Commitment of minimum 25,000 transactions (no of bills paid) per month through BBPS channel
• Agree to maintain a prefunded account with a minimum balance of amount equivalent to 3 days of settlement value.
2. Close Pricing with client
• Interchange Payout by NPCI – as per biller category (refer attached sheet)

• Switching Cost – as per NPCI biller category (refer attached sheet) Commercials

• Bill Fetch fee – Applicable only if the bill is fetched > 2 times
• Interchange Income = Interchange payout – Cost of transaction – Fetch fee

• BBPS Agreement (After AI registration with NPCI; customized for each customer as per their transaction flow)

2. Agent Onboarding BBPS Agreement

• Entity Proof (PAN Card/CoI/MoA/Partnership Deed/Shop & Establishment Act/Tax Regd. Certificate)
• Office Address Proof (Telephone Bill/Electricity Bill/Tax Regd. Certificate/Rental Agreement) VSTS Registration
Guideline
• Self Attested KYC Documents of the Proprietor/Partners/Directors (i.e ID Proof, Address Proof and Photo)
Application Access Required – VSTS
Application Process Flow – As per attached guideline
• Note : VSTS registration is not required for ICICI Bank BCs and clients having digital platform for end users
