Emergency Evacuation In an emergency, call ‘000’ then UNE Safety & Security on 6773 2099 (24 hrs) Staff in charge of a class are responsible for the evacuation and safety of that class. Upon hearing an alarm or seeing danger and you need to evacuate: • Cease activities, and only if safe to do so, shut down experiments, equipment and machinery. • Evacuate the building/area using the nearest safe exit. • Do not use the lifts and all doors should be closed (but not locked) on leaving. • Move to the closest, safe assembly area or as directed by staff/emergency services. • Remain at the assembly area until instructed to leave by a Warden or emergency services personnel. • If the assembly area becomes unsafe you will be instructed by Wardens to move to an alternative safe assembly area. • Do not re-enter the building until informed that it is safe to do so by a Warden or emergency services personnel. • Never enter a building during an alarm. • Take a moment now to look for your nearest exit and alternative exit. Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
demonstrate an understanding of the neurological, endocrine and musculoskeletal systems including related anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, diagnostics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and the quality use of medicines and complementary therapies; demonstrate and apply comprehensive endocrine neurological and musculoskeletal assessment and evidence-based clinical reasoning skills in theory, clinical and simulated environments; demonstrate the capacity to integrate and relate principles of ethical and legal practice within a team approach to person-centred care; apply reflective practice and intra and interprofessional communication strategies that facilitate the delivery of safe and effective quality care across diverse settings; and plan and implement person-centred primary health care and health promotion strategies related to endocrine neurological and musculoskeletal health and wellbeing. Over the next 14 days, Mr Kwon’s condition improves to a point where the doctor is happy to discharge him home. His gait is steady and unaided, his speech has improved but still slurred. He has recovered some movement on his left side and it is likely a deficit will remain. With this new information and your initial notes about his lifestyle/history, develop a discharge plan. Complete the attached discharge plan form. Justify your discharge plan decisions with reference to the literature.
