AUTOMATED INDOOR FARMING

SYSTEM WITH REMOTE

MONITORING
 What is AUTOMATED INDOOR GARDENENING SYSTEM ?
  AUTOMATED INDOOR GARDENENING SYSTEM : A vegetable
or herb garden that is controlled by computer. Although
farming and gardening have been enhanced with computers
and electronic devices for decades, the AUTOMATED INDOOR
GARDENENING SYSTEM often refers to small, indoor units
that by various means determine when to alert the user to
add nutrients. This Smart gardens may also manage their own
lighting.

INTRODUCTION

 Automation the process of monitoring the garden can

transform garden irrigation process from being manual and
static to smart and dynamic one.
 This leads to higher comfortability, water using efficiency and
less human supervision effort. This paper proposes a cloud
based Internet of Things (IoT) smart garden monitoring and
irrigation system using Arduino Uno. The watering
requirement for a plant can be adjusted by monitoring the soil
moisture.
 Measuring the soil moisture of the plant gives information if
the plant is ideally watered, over watered or under watered.
PROJECT MISSION

 To establish a product to help the urban families grow

vegetables and flowers for daily use in their backyard, rooftop
or even inside the house and taking good care of plants even
in their absence.
WATERING SYSTEM
SYSTEM REQIREMENTS

 Raspberry Pi: Raspberry Pi is a series of small single-board

computers.
 Soil Moisture Sensor:
Reflected microwave radiation is affected by the soil moisture
and is used for remote sensing in hydrology
and agriculture. Portable probe instruments can be used by
farmers or gardeners. Soil moisture sensors typically refer to
sensors that estimate volumetric water content.
 Lighting: Lighting is one in all the most issues in Indoor
farming. LEDs ar accustomed produce a synthetic lighting
atmosphere for the crops. LEDs have a protracted life, price
terribly less and consume less energy.
 Temperature and Humidity: Temperature and humidity are as
important as any other factors for plant growth. A DHT11
sensor is used to calculate the temperature and humidity
inside the system.
 Camera: The Raspberry Pi incorporates a 5MP camera
peripheral with a cable for attaching directly with the CSI
port. This camera delivers high-definition photos and might
additionally shoot videos.
 GSM Module: : A GSM or GSM module could be a device that
acts as a mobile to send messages to the user. It desires a
SIM card to try to to thus. This module is useful once the user
is off from the system and desires to observe the parameters
within the system.
 Co2 Sensor:
Carbon Dioxide is very essential for plant growth. In a closed
environment like this, it is not easy to get enough CO2 required
for the crop.
