Rizal, a Fresh Graduate, just got a job as a credit
analyst financial staff with the opportunity to
become a supervisor within a year.
Rizal was awarded the title of “The Rising Star“.

He is an easy going person,


outspoken, care with his
surroundings, and an outstanding

What business problem ?
● Business Process for Service Excellent:
The quality and timeliness of the credit analysis (SLA/Service Level
Agreement) is not as expected by Sugiarto (although he has very high
standards).
● The change in working culture after Sugiarto joined the company as
Senior Manager.
● Sugiarto pressuring everyone leading to demotivation and resignation.
● No combination from the authorized person to apply balance between
positional power and personal power. Sugiarto sides heavily to apply
positional power, but not personal power, Rizal has a good
combination, but he is not a powerful position as Sugiarto is
What PEOPLE problem ?
● Rizal’s worries about the competition in marketing department then
try to seek opportunity to another department
● Lack of the employees’ motivation in doing their job. Moreover, they
could not find the office as a comfortable place to work anymore
● No combination from the authorized person to apply balance between
positional power and personal power. Sugianto sides heavily to apply
positional power, but not personal power. Actually, Rizal has a good
combination, but he is not as powerful position as Sugianto is.

● The inconvenience with Dictator Boss
The Bosses give value to subordinate just based on how to manage the
work only with their way, if different, they don’t like odd people, not by
innovation and result and also Lack of leadership knowledge, lack of
business strategy knowledge, don't want to follow outside suggestion

Rizal doesn’t have power to influence Sugiarto since level gap was way to
far

Sugianto managed to changing the company’s culture which shows that a


follower-type employee is the most suitable person to work with the
company

initiatives
Rizal invite people for the meeting and emailed the
suggestions, received by Sugiarto and Sugiarto
