Summary

• A booster is a dynamo electric machine the armature of which is


connected in series with a circuit
• Its generated emf is being added to or subtracted from that of the
main circuit depends on the polarity
• The hysteresis effect is especially objectionable in boosters and
must be reduced to minimum
