Food Service
The food service industry encompasses all of the activities, services, and business functions involved in preparing
and serving food to people eating away from home. This includes all types of restaurants from fine dining to fast
food. 
3. How COVID-19 pandemic affected their business?

- The COVID-19 pandemic made Triple P’s Resto close their business for
three consecutive months but, continuously paying expenses for rent and
utility. A lot of their supplies had been disposed. There is no income
coming in their business but they have to pay the expenses for their
business and this leads for them to suffer a great loss of finance. The
nature of the business which is food service seem not to be demandable
with the pandemic situation due to the restrictions of going outside and
also, to the priority of the people which is their health and to save money
amidst the COVID-19.
4. What were the solutions they used to overcome the negative effects of the
pandemic on their business?

- When the strict restrictions due to COVID-19 slightly loosen, Triple P’s resto opened up their
food service again following the limited physical contact inside of their store. It is hard to get
up again that is why in order to continue with their operations again, they get funds from
organizations also, to compensate for their losses and expenses. Since, we live in the era
where the technology is in-demand and was great of use especially in this pandemic, the
Triple P’s Resto took advantage into it and reached out to customers by using the social media
to promote their business. They improved their page and website so that they can address
the customers’ need and for them to be able to get additional customers that they need in
order to overcome the negative effects of the pandemic. They had partnered with several
food delivery service companies like the GrabFood and Foodpanda as many people prefer
delivery of food rather than going to the restaurant in person. Last and not the least,
innovation is their key towards bringing back the success for the Triple P’s resto as they
introduced new menu to their list to be able to entice new customers that means additional
income for them; they improved their services and do their best to make the customers
choose to acquire in their business.
5. How will they pivot as a business in the new normal?

- In this new normal setup, they will be adjusting most of their activities and how they do
their business. They will be following the protocols as well as implement the social
distancing inside their store. Since, they are offering a food service to the people, they
will be taking an extra care in preparing up to serving the food to the customers. The
customers are required to have their facemasks and face shields on, in order to get inside
of the store. They also need to get their temperatures done by the guard. The cashier
counter will be covered by hard transparent plastic for the sake of safety of the
employees and to ensure that the food would not be contaminated by any bacteria or
virus. Employees are important and also of priority aside from the customers for the
Triple P’s Resto that is why they do not give up and just close the business but instead,
continue it in a new normal way. Also, given that most of the people cannot still go out in
their houses to eat dine-in, the business will cater more on delivery as it is more
convenient and efficient for the customers and most importantly, they could avoid
contact with other people that meant their safety.
