1.ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES OF PAKISTAN

 Water pollution, soil erosion,

global warming, air pollution, and
natural disasters are just a few of
the  environmental problems that
Pakistan faces.
 Fossil fuels, population growth,
and deforestation are the major
causes of these environmental
problems.
 Two of the major issues are
discussed below:
1.Air pollution:
 Definition;
 The presence of harmful solid and
liquid particles in the air, as well as
some gases that are harmful to the
environment, is known as air pollution.
 Causes;
 Air pollution is mainly caused by the
burning of fossil fuel for transportation
and production of electricity.
 The black smoke coming out of
vehicles on the road along and out of
factories in the industrial areas are all
leading causes of air pollution in
Pakistan
 In many  parts of the country, the
problem has been caused by a lack
of rainfall and low wind speed.
 Effects;
 Heavy exposure to hazardous air
can lead to major health problems
including ;
1. Asthma
2. Liver damage
3. Lung infections
4. Heart problems
5. Increasing death rate , etc.
 Solution;
 Plant more trees.
 Reduce the number of diesel
vehicles which emit excessive
carbon in the air.
 Don't burn leaves and garbage
2.Land pollution:

 Definition;
 Land pollution is the destruction
of the Earth's surface and soil as a
result of human activities, either
directly or indirectly.
 Causes;
 Land pollution in Pakistan is
caused by;
 Population
 The use of toxic chemical
fertilizers and pesticides.
 Deforestation
 Soil Erosion
 Effects;
  Soil that has been contaminated
should no longer be used to grow
food
 If contaminated soil is used to grow
food, the land will usually produce
lower yields than it would if it were
not contaminated.
 This, in turn, can lead to increased
erosion, which spreads
contaminants onto the land.
 Solution;
 We can minimize land pollution by;
 adopting a zero-waste lifestyle
 Reducing the use of plastic
 Recycling and reusing things
 Buying organic products
 Avoiding using harsh chemicals
such as industrial cleaners and
bleach solutions.
