QVC
and broadcast television
network, and flagship
shopping channel
specializing in televised
- Qurate Retail Group home shopping
QVC has had a strong presence in television broadcast since as early as 1986.
From this they have developed very strong brand recognition
and have business dealings in several countries.
(US, UK, Germany, Japan, China and Italy)
Differentiating Factors:
● Great influence within the television broadcast ● QVC stakeholders would include the business
sector itself, it’s employees, vendors, suppliers,
● Provide a good customer experience hence QVC customers, business sponsors
which stands for Quality, Value and Convenience
● They use T.V. and mobile & media platforms to
target a large group of consumers
● User friendly website and navigation
● Interactive online platforms
Website Design and Navigation
QVC makes a great example in terms how their website is set up to deliver the best
experience.
Their competition are massive retailers like Amazon and Best Buy and so they must be
able to deliver just as good of a web experience as them if they want to compete.

QVC is very well advertised. It does so through all its platforms, whether it
may be T.V., Social Media, Mobile App. They have made a customer base
across all platforms and are able to reach them through a variety ways to
highlight any upcoming events or special products on sale.
● Customers can view the best deals, Clearance items and free shipping items right on the landing page.
● Customers can stream QVC TV directly from the website.
● With the amount of information that is provided on the landing page, I believe there is a great deal of
data gathering and data consolidation involved.
The Ideal Team
Karen Etzkorn: CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER (CIO) : She leads the team by bringing best in class
technology solutions.
Questions we would ask her:
- Is there a possible way to create a type ahead feature?
- How can customers provide feedback on all products and just not a few?
- How can we add sections for Women’s/ Children’s clothing on the search bar?
Mary Campbell: CHIEF MERCHANDISING OFFICER: She’s successful identifying and attracting several
strategic brands and concepts to QVC. Prior to QVC, Mary spent 5 years with Target in merchandising.
Questions we would ask her:
- Have you considered changing the toolbar to be more user friendly?
- How do you work with your team to accurately forecast upcoming trends?
- Have you considered using other colors in your overall color scheme for the website?
