This document contains a student registration list for a digital telecommunications course at the University of Dodomacollege. It also includes a question about transmitting a signal with a bandwidth larger than the channel bandwidth, and explanations of how this can be handled at the transmitter and receiver. At the transmitter, precoding, modulation scheme selection, and minimizing parity bits can reduce the signal bandwidth. At the receiver, signal regeneration reconstructs the original signal after higher frequencies are clipped due to the narrow channel bandwidth.

QN: Is it possible to transmit the signal having large bandwidth compared to that of the channel? Explain how this can be handled at the transmitter and receiving side. Yes, it is possible to transmit the signal having bandwidth larger than that of the channel, the problem is, the higher frequencies of the signal will be clipped, allowing the frequencies that can be accommodated by the channel to pass to the receiving end. In order to handle this clipping effect proper techniques at the receiving side and at the transmitting side must be incorporated. AT THE TRANSMITTER the proper pre-coding scheme should be chosen in order to ensure the bandwidth of the signal is reduced to the value that can be accommodated by the channel. The modulation scheme that utilizes a small bandwidth should be taken into account, so as to reduce the effect of clipping due to the signal transmitted having a larger bandwidth compared to that of the channel. The number of parity bits, which increases the bandwidth of the signal should be kept to minimum. AT THE RECEIVER
Regeneration of the signal at the receiving side
should be done in order to account for the effect of the clipping due to small channel bandwidth. This process is done in order to reconstruct the signal into its original form after the parts of the signal having the higher frequencies being clipped.
