wood, water and air?
Which form of matter are they
in?

and air is a gas.

How did you draw the circles
differently for solids, liquids
and gases?
August 28, 2020
The circles were stuck close to each other
in solids,
a little farther apart in liquids,

and much farther apart in gases.

What do the circles represent?
The circles represent particles
depend upon their arrangement.
In which arrangement do you think
the circles can move easily?

Type your answer in our chat box.

Solid
Fixed size and shape
Does not flow
Cannot be compressed easily
Liquid
Fixed quantity but not shape
Flows easily
Compressed very little
Gas
No fixed quantity and shape
Flows easily
Easily compressed
What keeps the particles
closely packed in solid?
The particles have a force of
attraction between them. This
force is maximum in solids, so
the particles are closely packed.
