The Product Rule
• Suppose,
f(x) = (x2+3x)(4x + 5), How do we find f’(x) ?
= 4x3 + 5x2 + 12x2 + 15x
= 4x3 + 17x2 + 15x
So, f’(x) = 12x2 + 34x + 15
• When the multiplication is not practical and complicated, we
do it by using product rule.
