 Informative Speaking is A speech to inform

shares information with others to enhance their
knowledge.
 A speaker should be very knowledgeable about
the topic.
 Goals: Speak to enhance understanding and

a speech informing an audience about growing

peace lilies as houseplants might ultimately
persuade the audience to that might enable
individuals to self-persbuy and grow peace lilies.

• Analyze the audience

• Use appropriate language
• Explain the importance of the topic
• Express interest in the subject material
• Show, don't tell

 PERSUASIVE SPEAKING

Persuasive speech is one of the three most daily

used speeches -Persuasive speech is used when
presenters decide to convince their presentation
or ideas to their listeners.
 EXAMPLE

a sales pitch. During a sales pitch, the speaker is trying to convince the

audience to buy his or her product or service. If the salesperson is

successful, the audience (the person being sold to) will choose to

purchase the product or service.

• Identify the target audience

• Pre-empt common objections
• Most persuasive speeches concern
questions of fact, value, or policy
• Articulate the goals of the speech.

is a speech designed to captivate an audience’s

attention and regale or amuse them while
delivering a message.

 Informative speaking, generally centers on talking about people, events, processes, places,
or things. The speaker informs the audience about one of the subjects. In an informative
speech, the speaker describes a specific topic supported by facts.
 Persuasive speaking is a particular type of speech in which the speaker has the goal of
satisfying the listener accepting his point of view. Public speakers try to persuade or change
the audience's opinion about an idea or product.
 Speaking to entertain is a speech designed to captivate an audience’s attention and regale or
amuse them while delivering a message.
