GEOGRAPHY
• Telangana is situted on the Deccan plateau in the
central stretch of eastern seaboard of the Indian
Peninsula and covers an area of 1,14,840 sq.
kilometers.
•The region is drained by two major rivers Godavari
and Krishna while the minor rivers include
Bhima,Manjira and Musi.
•Dry deciduous forests eco-region covers much of
the state .Forest constitutes one of the major
natural resources of the state.
•Over 20% of the coal deposits in the country are in
Telangana region.The coal supplied from this
region and the power produced is supplied to
entire south India.
•Telangana is also rich in limestone deposits that
cater to cement factories.Telangana also has mica
and bauxite deposits.
