Hi, I am Teacher Renante
Are you Excited For a FUN
Learning Session?
1. Check your audio
and video if they are
working well
2. Set your microphone to mute.
Turn in on only during the Q &
A (once address by the teacher)
3. Turn camera always
and put it off if
experiencing difficulty
in connection.
4. Listen attentively to the
teacher. Stay alone
during online classes for
you to become
independent
5. In case there is an urgent
matter, give a private
chat/pm the presenter.
6. For questions, please follow the
format: Indicate your name
followed by the question.
Jose Rizal: How can I
turn off the mic?
7. Type your name on the
chat box if you wish to
go to the comfort room.
8. No food and liquids
while having online
classes.
9. Using social media
such as Facebook is not
allowed while having
online classes
10. The session will be recorded
for documentation purposes.
11.Feedback, comments and
suggestions should be given
at the end of the session.

Our Goals
1. explain the particulate properties of solids, liquids
and gases;
2. Recognize atoms and molecules as particles of
matter;
3. Observe solid as a form of matter
Direction:
1.Please  note down the categories on a pieces of paper.
2.I’ll post the category in the slide.
3. Think of a word for each category, beginning with the
letter that I will present in the PowerPoint.
4. You have 1 minute to write your answer.
Example
Letter M- Earth and Space
Rocks: Metamorphic
Landforms: Mountain
Weather: Mist
Solar System: Mars
Letter P- Matter

Atomic Theory Early ideas on Atom

1.Elements are made up of tiny particles

called atom.
2.Atoms are indestructible.

more than one elements.

Activity 1.1
Particles of
Solid
Objectives
• Observe solid as a
form of matter
• Determine what solid
made up of
• Observe and prove that
matter is particulate
Materials
• Scissors
• 10x10 aluminum foil
or a piece of paper
• Magnifying glass (if
available)
Procedure
1. Cut the piece of aluminum
foil or piece of paper in two
equal parts.
2. Cut the half part of the
aluminum or paper in half
again.
3. Continue cutting until you
can no longer hold the piece
of foil or paper.
Guide Question
1. When did you stop cutting
the aluminum foil or paper?
2. What do you think will be
the final product of this
activity be? Will it still be
aluminum?
3. What does it tell you about
the nature of matter?
