 PURPOSE
- This training course is necessary for introducing the inexperienced power plant personnel to the basic concepts and
theory of power station equipment and design; and has been specifically designed to cover the general aspects of
all major power plant equipment and systems within DATAN 7 Add-on Combined Cycle Power Plant scope. This
course also serves as a state-of-the-art review for more experienced personnel.

Description and Functions of Different Components
 Protection system is provided to isolate the defective part of the rest of the healthy part as quickly as
possible to achieve:

- To detect the existence of unacceptable electrical system conditions.

- Minimize possible damage to electrical system equipment and personnel exposure to electrical hazards.

- To minimize the effect of disturbances of the electrical system.

  Unit Protection consists of the following protection functions

- PROTECTION OF THE GENERATOR is provided by 2 numbers 7UM622 relay.

- PROTECTION OF THE UNIT TRANSFORMER (GSUT)

- PROTECTION OF THE STEP DOWN TRANSFORMER (UAT)

GSUT protections and UAT protections are provided by 3 numbers 7UT633 Relay

ALL RELAYS AND DETAILS OF CURRENT TRANSFORMERS AND VOLTAGE TRANSFORMERS WITH
CONNECTIONS ARE SHOWN IN ATTACHED ANNEXURE-A.
