KEY ISSUES

Should Evan try to persuade the board to hang on to Rob,

or should he back an outsider for the innovative but
abrasive CEO?

03
SITUATION ANALYSIS

Four years into the job, Rob has revitalized his company’s
financial performance. But his verbal gaffes threaten to ruin
staff morale, alienate customers, and drag down the firm’s share
price.

Rahul
Rob’s positive aspects
04

• Innovative

• Growth and performance oriented

Rahul
05
Rob’s Negative aspects
• Lack of a humane, caring and a values-centred style of
management.

• Lack of respect towards the parents

Rahul
06
ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS
• 1. Remove Rob from his post and appoint a new CEO
• 2.Give more weightage to Rob’s contributions and do not fire him
from the position.
• 3. Back an ouster for Rob considering his recent PR gaffes and their
damages to the firm.
• 4. Ask Rob to take a break, rethink his actions, and return to the
company after working on the same.

07
EVALUATING THE ALTERNATIVES
• 1. Removing Rob from his position would be an ethical measure from
company.
• 2. Letting Rob continue wouldn’t aid in any positive PR and no issues are
addressed.
• 3. Counselling Rob would be a great idea only if it doesn’t affect the
working style of him and his contribution is not, in any way, gets effected

RECOMMENDATIONS 08
• Rob is essential to the success of Growing Places.

• Assigned an assistant or advisor, preferably a senior.

• Company should focus on developing another individual.
