Introduction
• Fundamental of Vaastu Shastra
 
Vaastu - the architecture of dwellers, Shastra- the
principle of accumulating the proportional
combination of five elements viz: Earth, Air, Fire,
Water and Ether (sky), to the living space of the
dwellers for the better cause. Vaastu Shastra was
invented for human welfare by Rishis (priests) in
the Vedic period. Its fundamental principle lies in
the Puran (comprehensive perception of nature),
gravitational, radiation, magnetic force etc. flowing
from different directions and sub-directions. The
positive effects and negative effects can be
created through its measures which have already
being proved by the scientific study and analysis.
Its logical principles lead to a happy, healthy and
prosperous life, therefore it is essential that
people have its fundamental knowledge.
Human body is also made of five elements
(Pancha Mahabhut or Pancha tatwo) and their
effects on human life are substantial. The
proportional combination of these five elements
produces bio-electro magnetic energy which
entirely influences our mind and body.
Human body acquires protein, carbohydrates etc
from these five elements in order to acquire internal
energy. The misbalance or deficiency of these
elements in human body may cause undesired
outcome which are often harmful. These in turn lead
to stress and strange behaviours in people.

Vaastu Shastra deals with the ways to keep the

body and mind in a perfect condition by balancing
these five elements. That’s why the principal of
balancing the five elements earth, water, air, fire and
sky is called the Vaastu Shastra.

• Main Key of Vaastu Shastra

• Vaastu Shastra essentially deals with two source

of energies; Life force energy and Geo magnetic
energy. The revolution and the rotation of the
earth create Life Force energy and Geo-
magnetic energy respectively. The life force
energy is essential to protect and strengthen our
physical body; hence the name Life Force
(Pranik Vayu). The Geo-magnetic energy also
known as Bhu-Chumbakia Urja contains the cell
activating energy that has a direct connection
with the mind.

Dowsing as Vaastu Tool
Modern physicists now recognize that energy and
matter are inter-convertible and interchangeable, with
matter being the lowest degree of energy and energy
the highest degree of matter. They are one and the
same. In 1905 Albert Einstein formulated a relation
between matter and energy; E= mc2.(E = energy, m =
mass and c = the speed of light). Meaning matter at
speed of light is called energy and when it slows down
it reverts back to matter. Dowsers strongly apply this
principle to provide a physical explanation for dowsing
consciousness.
If thought is energy, it must have the capacity to
manifest at a physical level. Hence the power of
thought is the secret of dowsing consciousness.
This aligns very well with the concept of Vaastu and
the effects of Life force energy and Geo-Magnetic
energy. With this in mind, Life force energy and
Geo-magnetic energy also have the capacity to
manifest at a physical level and these can be
measured by using tools like L-rod, Y-rod and
Pendulum.
Dowsing extensively uses the power of conscious and
subconscious mind. A true principle behind dowsing is
the use of mind and body as a combined transmitter
and receiving set. As the body-mind is a sensitive
transmitter-receiver the instructions given to the
subconscious must be definite and concise. The
science of dowsing therefore consists in nothing more
than giving instructions to the subconscious mind. I
have personally experienced that the use of tool and
knowledge of Dowsing in Vaastu is very very
advantageous.
The growing global popularity and acceptance of
Dowsing can be realised through the growing
popularity of dowsing societies all over the world. For
example British Dowsing Society (BDS) has been
running for 76 years now and as a member of BDS it
was my pleasure to attend their 75th Anniversary
conference held in the United Kingdom in 2008.
