• Application of oil over head/Sneha prayogas confined to
head .
• मूर्ध्नि शिरसि यत् तैलम् दीयते तत् मूर्धतैलमुच्यते।
• शिरसि यत् तैलमादीयते तत् मूर्धतैलमुच्यते
• Utility –dinacharya, roga prasamana
• Taila should be selected on the basis of
prakrithi,satmya,rithu,desa,dosha.(su)
• Roga -dooshya dosha roga
• तत्र प्र्कृ तिसात्म्य ऋतुदेशदोष विकारजित्।
• तैलम् घृतं वा मतिमान् युन्ज्यात् अभ्यङ्ग्सेकयो:॥

मूर्धतैलम् बहुगुणं तद्विद्यात् उत्तरोत्तरम्

continuously poured on forehead and then allowed to
flow over the scalp in a specific rhythm

 Procedure

• Poorva karma
• After sodhana ,snehana swedana
• Seated in a stool of height of his knee
• Time of adminstration is dinantha
• A leather band of 12 A width and equal to
that of head circumference is strapped around
the head just above the ears plastered by a
piece of cloth smeared with black gram dough
• Then luke warm medicated oil is poured into
this to a height of 1 angula from hair root
• The oil should be retained till secretion
appears in mouth and nose
• Or 10000,8000,6000 in vata,pitha and kapha
• In swastha 1000 matra
• After removing the oils the skandha should be
massaged
• The course shall be for a maximum period of 7
days
