Triangle and It’s

Properties
By-Raghav Malik
What is a triangle
o A triangle is a simple closed curve
made of three non-parallel line
segments. It is also the polygon
with least number of sides. It has six
elements – 3 sides and 3 angles.
o Few properties of Triangle are given
below
1. Angle Sum Property
2. Triangle Inequality Property
3. Pythagoras Theorem for a Right-
angled Triangle
Angle Sum Property

• The sum of all the interior angles in a triangle leads

up to 180°.
• It can be with an obtuse, acute and right
angled triangle. But the sum of all the interior
angles would be 180°.
• It can be presented as angle a + angle b +angle
c=180°
TRIANGLE INEQUALITY PROPERTY
• The Triangle Inequality Property states that, the sum
of the lengths of any two sides of a triangle must be
greater than the length of the third side. In the
triangle ABC, BC + AB > AC; AC + BC > AB; AB
+ AC > BC.

• The above statement can also be reframed as: The
difference between the lengths of any two sides of a
triangle is less than of the third side i.e. AB – BC<
CA; BC – CA < AB;
CA – AB < BC
