•TOPIC: GLOBAL WARMING

•GIVEN BY- MR. PRITESH
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We would like to express our special thanks

of gratitude to our teacher Mr. Pritesh
sir Who gave us the golden opportunity to do
this wonderful project on the topic Global
Warming which also helped us in doing lots
of research and we came to know about so
many new things. Secondly I would also like
to thank my group members who helped me
in finalizing this project within limited time
frame.
INTRODUCTION
• Global warming is the increase in average
temperature of the earths near surface air and
oceans.
• Most of the observed temperature increase is
caused by increased concentration of
greenhouse gases.
• Major greenhouse gases includes:
•   Water vapor – 36-70%
•    Carbon dioxide – 9-26%
•    Methane – 4-9%
•    Ozone – 3-7%
IS THE CLIMATE BECOMING WARMER AND
WARMER?
• YES ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, THE EARTH'S
SURFACE TEMPERATURE HAS RISEN BY ABOUT 1 DEGREE FAHRENHEIT IN THE
PAST CENTURY, WITH ACCELERATED WARMING DURING THE PAST TWO DECADES.
THERE IS NEW AND STRONGER EVIDENCE THAT MOST OF THE WARMING OVER
THE LAST 50 YEARS IS ATTRIBUTABLE TO HUMAN ACTIVITIES. HUMAN ACTIVITIES
HAVE ALTERED THE CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF THE ATMOSPHERE THROUGH
THE BUILDUP OF GREENHOUSE GASES – PRIMARILY CARBON DIOXIDE, METHANE,
AND NITROUS OXIDE. THE HEAT-TRAPPING PROPERTY OF THESE GASES IS
UNDISPUTED ALTHOUGH UNCERTAINTIES EXIST ABOUT EXACTLY HOW EARTH'S
CLIMATE RESPONDS TO THEM.
CAUSES OF GLOBAL
WARMING
• Emission of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide,
methane, nitrous oxide, etc. into the atmosphere.
• The major source causing global warming is carbon
dioxide i.e 80%.
• 20% of methane and nitrous oxide.
• Increasing rate of deforestation.
• Increase in industrialization.

EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING ON
ENVIRONMENT
• Increasing the average temperature of earth.
• Alteration in ecology.
• Poor quantity and quality of rainfall.
• Increased number of natural disasters like floods, tornados, etc.
• Imergence of new diseases.
• Effect on marine life.
EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING ON HUMAN
LIFE
• Heat related illness
• Allergies
• Exposure to water-born and vector-
born illness
• Stress, depression
• Increased interpersonal aggression

PROCESS OF GLOBAL WARMING
• Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
• Reduce use of heat and air conditioners
MEASURES TO • Power your home with renewable energy
REDUCE • Invest in energy-efficient appliances

GLOBAL • Reduce water waste

• Drive a fuel-efficient vehicle
WARMING • Shrink your carbon profile
• Afforestation
