INTRODUCTION
Massage is the place were physiotherapy started. There is also evidence of
massage being used in many ancient cultures.

Massage as a therapy evolved from one of the instincts, the desire to touch
and be touched. We can exist without many things, but physical contact is
not one of them
What is massage therapy?
Massage (from French massage ) also known as massage therapy, is a practice or
therapy of applying force , or vibration, on parts of the body, such as soft tissues
of the body ( muscles , connectors , tendons , ligaments and joints ), in order to
stimulate the blood circulation , mobility, elasticity or alleviating certain pain
body.
HISTORY
Massage is one of the oldest therapies in the world, being very popular with the
Greeks and Romans.

The first massage performed by the prehistoric man was with ointments and
healing herbs used to rub on the body, promoting well-being, care for injuries, or
protection against infections.

Massage therapy is used to help manage a health condition or enhance


wellness. It involves manipulating the soft tissues of the body.
Massage has been practiced in most cultures and was one of the
earliest tools that people used to try to relieve pain.
