DEFINITION OF EARTH ECOLOGICAL BALANCE

1. The ecological balance is the equilibrium between,

and harmonious coexistence of, organisms and their
environment.
2. Protecting the ecological balance is an issue that
everybody can become involved in. You have the
power to have a positive effect, no matter how small,
in maintaining the delicate balance of the Earth's
ecosystem. Recycle to help prevent the over-
harvesting of natural resources
IMPORTANT OF ECOLOGICAL BALANCE.
 Ecological balance important is balance ensures the
stability of the organisms and environment.
 Ecological balance important is various species survive
because favorable ecosystems were created. to the

 Ecological balance is also important because it leads

to the continuous existence of the organisms.

 Ecological balance is also important brings the

existence of the world.
CAUSE OF Ecological Imbalance
 Deforestation:
 Overpopuation
 Industrial waste..

 water pollution

 Air pollution

The causes of greenhouse effect are as follows;

1. Due to deforestation.
2. Due to population growth, the excessive amount of CO2 is being deposited in the
atmosphere through
furnaces of power plants, automobiles, factories, etc.

Acid rain is caused by a chemical reaction that begins when compounds like sulfur
production, fertilizers,
dioxide and nitrogen oxides are released into the air. These substances can rise very

ecosystem:
1.Global problems:
 acid rain

Consequences

Emissions of sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide give rise to health problems such as
cough, asthma, headache, eye irritation, nose and throat. An indirect consequence of
acid rain is that toxic metals dissolved in water are absorbed by fruits, vegetables and
animal tissues.
Three major problems which effects of imbalances in the
ecosystem:
1.Global problems:
 Depletion of ozone layer in the atmosphere

The causes of Depletion of ozone layer in the atmosphere

Chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs are the main cause of ozone layer depletion. These are
released by solvents, spray aerosols, refrigerators, air-conditioners, etc. The
molecules of chlorofluorocarbons in the stratosphere are broken down by the
ultraviolet radiations and release chlorine atoms.

 Depletion of ozone layer in the atmosphere

Consequences

ozone depletion is an increase in UV-B rays reaching the earth's surface. Causes :
chlorofluorocarbon (CFCs), halons, and other compounds deplete the ozone layer. ...
CFCs and halons break down into chlorine and bromine which in turn destroy the
ozone layer.

STRATEGIES TO MAINTAIN ECOLOGICAL BALANCE.
Controlling the birth

-Controlling the birth rate through contraception and family

planning will reduce the strain on the ecosystem by
reducing the rate at which people consume natural e
resources, such as food and water.
 Controlling Population
-The problem of over population has to be controlled
despite of cultural, emotional or religious sensitivity.
 Recycling
-Has been considered as the best way in your hand to
prevent ecological imbalan.
ADVANTAGES OF EARTH ECOLOGICAL BALANCE.

 Conservation of resources by using fewer virgin materials.

 Reduction in waste through reuse and recycling.

 Using recycled material in new products.

 Reduction in energy use yields less pollution, including gases

that contribute to climate change.

 Reduction of toxic chemicals into the environment.

DISADADVANTAGES OF EARTH ECOLOGICAL BALANCE.
 cost is the major disadvantage of a environmental policy as
there is need of money to implement it.

 If there is no public support to a policy it would be a failure , also

sometime public response can severe for example if you are
protecting a natural area and people have high rely on that
particular area.

 Degradation of natural resources such as soil erosion,

deforestation, depletion of wildlife, shortage of energy,
degradation of marine ecosystems and depletion of mineral
resources.

 Alteration and inconsistent land use like the conversion of

agricultural land into industrial estates, conversion of mangrove
swamps into fishponds and salt beds.
