Beat
Music is organized with time signatures that indicate
how many beats are found within one measure of
music.

The top number of the time signature indicates how many beats will
appear in one measure/bar of music.

of note receives one beat.

Folksongs of the Lowlands of Luzon

Folk Songs= a traditional songs


Lowlands Groups of Luzon= Ilocos,
Pangasinan, Pampanga, CALABARZON
(Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and
Quezon), MIMAROPA (Mindoro,
Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) and
Folksongs of Lowlands Luzon= are Bicol
written and sung to accompany daily
activities such as farming, fishing, and
putting the baby to sleep.
Characteristics to the Folksongs of the
Lowlands of Luzon
= tells a story about livelihood
= highly influenced by spaniards
=songs for rocking the baby to sleep

Lowlands Group performed their folksongs


in native language such as Ilocano,
Pangasinense, Kapampangan, Bicolano and
Tagalog.
