• Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, also known as the ‘big bull’ or ‘Indian Warren Buffett’ was born on 5th July 1960
in Mumbai.As he was very curious about stocks, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala also expressed his wish to pursue
a career in the stock market.. He is the biggest Indian stock market investor. He started his career by
trading in the stock markets. He entered stock market with a capital of Rupees 5000.Then he started to
invest the money back in the stock markets Thus far in the current financial year 2020-21 (FY21), the net
worth of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and family has increased Rs 2,514 crore with the value of their
investments once again surging past the Rs 10,000 crore mark. He is a investor and a trader in the
INDIAN stock markets.

• Jhunjhunwala is the chairman of Aptech Limited and Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and sits on the
board of directors of Prime Focus Limited, Geojit Financial Services, Bilcare Limited, Praj Industries Limited, Provogue
India Limited, Concord Biotech Limited Innovasynth Technologies (I) Limited, Mid Day Multimedia Limited, Nagarjuna
Construction Company Limited, Viceroy Hotels Limited and Tops Security Limited. He is popularly referred to as the
"Warren Buffett of India" and the "King of Bull Market".
• Jhunjhunwala's stocks fell by up to 30% in December 2011.He recovered his losses in February 2012. ]These ups and
downs forced him to reduce his vulnerability by trimming his portfolio to one-third. His attempts to divest his Aptech
stake had no takers.
• Jhunjhunwala invested ₹26 Crores (US$3.4 Million) in A2Z Maintenance increasing his stake in the company by 3.57%,
upping his stake in the company to 23.2%.
• The first big profit of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was ₹5 lakh in 1986. In between 1986 and 1989, he earned almost ₹20-25
lakh profit.]
• As of 2020, his biggest investment is in Titan company which is worth ₹4,758 Crores (approx US$600 Million).[
PHILOSOPHY

• Rakesh Jhunjhunwala considers himself as both a trader and a long-term investor. Here’s a quote from
his interview.
• “Short-term trading is for short-term gain. Long-term trading is for long-term capital formation.
Trading is what gives you the capital to invest. My trading also helps my investing in the sense I use a
lot of technical analysis for trading at times.
• If the stock is overpriced, I should sell but my trading skills tell me that the stock can remain
overvalued or get more overvalued. Hence, I hold on to my investments.
• So, I think they complement each other in many ways but they are two distinct compartments
totally.”
