3 Plastic Cell Filled Concrete P.Narender 2020 Authors conclude that ,In the first
Pavement with Partial Kumar,A.Rames stage, optimum recycled aggregates
Replacement of Recycled h R.Durga (RA) was determined and achieved as
Aggregates of Low Volume Prasad 30% . During the second
Roads
stage ,optimum RA used for the
preparation of the plastic cell filled
concert with M20 grade
•The main objective of this work to study of plastic cell filled concrete
pavement in rural area instead of normal bitumen roads, To over come the over
loaded vehicles, inadequate drainage facilities and water logging problem.
Sub-base
•The plastic cells act as both the form and reinforcement for the pavement.
•The plastic cells are made from reclaimed high-density polyethylene (HDPE) sheets of thickness
0.22mm to about 0.25mm.
•These plastic cells can be supplied as rolls of strips 50mm to 100mm wide, depending upon the depth
requirement.
•The strips can be heat-welded or stitched to form cells.
•A pair of strips can be welded at 300mm intervals.
•The sub-base should be provided with stone/concrete block, or brick on edge should be laid on
either side of the carriageway projecting 50 to 100 mm above the subgrade/sub-base for the
confinement and protection.
•Locally valuable aggregates such as murrum and kankar mixed with lime flyash may also be used.
• Stone/ concrete block or brick on end edge should be laid on either side of the carriageway.
•Conventional pavement concrete with the 28 days strength of 30 MPA with a slump of about
30to 50 mm can fill up the cells.
•Super plastic sizes should be used to reduce water requirements of the desired slump.
•The roller compacted concrete (RCC), as specified in clause 1502 of specifications for ruler
roads can also be used for feeling up the plastic cells and compacted with a roller.
