PHASE -II
* Main Research Questions
1) Recommend any three ways in which we can
help reduce food waste in your grocery store?
2) What is the effect of food waste on climate
change?
3) Suggest any 3 measures to prevent or reduce
food waste at our school .
Methods
 All the group members Kept a diary to observe
thrown away food at home .
 They Interviewed one of the teacher of our school Ms
Ketki Naik to understand how to reduce food waste
in school premises.
 Using online portal, group members conversed with
a Ms.Sangita Tiwari ( Jai Ambe Supermarket
owner)on reducing food waste in grocery store.
 As an expert on climate change they Interviewed Mrs
Minal Deo to discussing the effects of food waste
onclimate change.
Interviews
 Considering the situation, group members conducted interviews on Google meet to
maintain social distancing which also enhanced their technical skills.

 We interviewed 3 people Ms.Sangita Tiwari ( Jai Ambe Supermarket owner), Mrs


Minal Deo (Expert) and Ms Ketki Naik (Teacher, RBHS ).

 Group leader (Aryan Parulekar) invited them through E-mails. Our Group (Save
food) designed the questions and the interviewer of our group (Ameya Akut) asked
them the questions using online portals.

 The group leader along with the team members discussed the questions to be put
forth for the interview. They arrived at number of conclusions after studying all
them.

Save Food Awareness –
Activity in School
* Our topic of research – SAVE FOOD - is linked to the
SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) under the UN

Production
* In order to spread awareness to save food at school, we
conducted an activity at school
* The students of the school made sweets for the Indian
festival – Diwali
* They made the sweets as per the required quantity
only, so that food waste can be avoided during festivals

Conclusion
 All the interviewees were interactive and much aware about the problem
of food Wastage.
 They all have shared their different views regarding the huge amount of
food wasted on daily basis and find their way out to encourage to save
food.
 They also suggested about some of their personal experiences which they
implemented to tackle this problem.
 Compared to all three interviews , we have analysed that food is wasted
more in the school premises then at home and lastly in the grocery shop.
 Research at home has really helped us as a alarming call to under the
need of saving food and preventing wastage at the same time.
