SEA-INTRODUCTION
SEA :Sandwiched between South China Sea & Indian Ocean.
Was known as the South Seas (Nanyang or Nampo) to the
Chinese & Japanese.
WWII, the term Southeast Asia signify the war zone by Lord
Luis Mountbatten.
The Southeast Asia countries consist of Brunei, Indonesia,
Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia,
Myanmar, Laos & Vietnam
This is a colorful region where its people consist of various
race, religion, language, culture & historical background
Before SEA
Similarities:
1. Experience of colonized country status.
2. The local people initiated quest for
independence.
3. Timeframe of independence period.
4. Adoption of democracy after independence.
5. Heterogeneous characteristics of social
structure.
