EMS Guidelines

 ISO-related guideline or operation-control put in place in all


major processes to reduce (if not totally eliminate)
environmental impact from process wastes and by-products

 SPILL KITS ARE LOCATED AT: CHEMICAL STORAGE, INSIDE


SERVICE VEHICLE
During Spill

 Do not touch any harmful substance. Use PPE’s when


handling spill and leaks
 Immediately stop the cause of spill or leak (Place an
absorbent barrier around the spill if necessary)
 Cover the spill entirely with an appropriate material (sand,
saw dust etc.)
 Use small dustpan or shovel to collect the absorbent material
used
 Transfer contaminated material into a bag labeled “toxic” or
“hazard waste”.
During Spill

 Toxic bags collected can be thrown on the hazard waste trash


bin (if available), or can be given to Enviro Department for
proper inventory and documentation
 All tools used should be decontaminated and washed
properly before storage and re-use

OPEN AREA (BODEGA, REBAR OR OTHER DESIGNATED OPEN
SPACE)

 Containers that used to contain toxic substances should be


disposed (or stored properly)
