Solid
It h a s definite s h a p e a n d volume b e c a u s e its particles a r e closely
p a c ke d together in a fixed position. These particles vibrate a n d a r e held
toget her by st r ong attractive forces. It is difficult to c om pr e s s t he particles.
Liquid
It h a s a definite volume a n d t a k e s t h e s h a p e of t h e containe r. Liquid
flows easily b e c a u s e its particles ha ve e n o u g h s pa c e a n d have less
attractive force. The s p a c e s in t h e particles allows particles to be
c om pr e s s e d a little bit.
Gas
It t a k e s t h e volume a n d s h a p e of t h e c ont ai ner. G a s particles a r e far
from e a c h o t he r t h a t is why they have t h e we a k attractive force a n d c a n
flow easily. They occupy t h e entire s p a c e available. The large s p a c e s in
between particles allows particles to be c om pr e s s e d easily.
