WHAT IS STRESS?
 Stress is the way human beings react both
physically and mentally to changes,events,and
situations in their lives.

 Stress is a fact of life,wherever you are and


whatever you are doing. You cannot avoid
stress,but you can learn to manage it so it
doesn’t manage you.
STRESS MANAGEMENT
 It implies to the broad range of measures and techniques acquired
by people in order to regulate their phases of stress with a view to
enhance everyday functioning.

 It is accepted only in the case of distress.

 Distress results in fairly negative and awful feelings mixed with a


contraction in productivity and output.
Why it is important?
 When you are distressed, managing stress is as important as anything else.

 It is important as it helps to improve:


health benefits

improved relationships

positive attitude and out look in life

better management of emotions

and mainly in eliminating the stress.


HOW TO MANAGE STRESS?
 we can manage stress by some individual approaches which can
be undertaken by the individual himself/herself.
 They are the basic hypothesis that the individual is worthy coping
with stress.
 There are some stratagies which can be adopted by an individual
for stress management they are:

I. Time management
II. Physical exercise
III. Relaxation techniques
IV. Social support
V. Sound planning
VI. assertiveness
TIME MANAGEMENT

 It involves simple strategies in order to put


ones time to best use without wasting time in
unnecessary and unimportant activities
 Time management is the precursor to other
stress management techniques.
PHYSICAL EXERCISES
 Physical exercises such as jogging, aerobics
walking ,swimming ,cycling ,etc.
 They have been recommended as an important
method of reducing stress.
 In addition, they provide a healthy mental
diversion from work stress and are a good
share, way of letting off the pressure.
RELAXATION TECHNIQUES
 It helps an individual to reduce mental tension
and to calm down the senses.
 These include: meditation ,yoga and
biofeedback etc.
 It have multiple benefits like inducing feelings
of calm and wellbeing, changing negative
routines etc.
SOCIAL SUPPORT
 They provide an emotional backing to the
individual.

 Social support can be received from a number


of people in the individuals environment
depending upon his/her social interaction and
social circle.
SOUND PALNNING
 An individual should plan well ahead of time.
 it is an essential stress management method to
be able to work in an effective and smooth
manner without stress.
 Last minute actions are not always the best
ones.
ASSERTIVENESS
 The art of saying No to someone who is
demanding too much of one, time and efforts,
especially to the extent where it becomes more
stressful.
