Storyline
• Story about Champaner Village in 1893
•Near the Village was British cantonment run by Captain Russell at the province of King
Raja Puran Singh
• Britishers were collecting Lagaan (Land Tax) from villagers
• No rain for two consecutive years in Champaner. Villagers unable to pay Lagaan
• Captain Russell challenged Bhuvan to play Cricket match.
• If the villagers won the match, Captain Russell announced to cancel the Tax for three
years otherwise villagers had to pay 03 times
• Bhuvan formed a team among villagers
• At the end, Bhuvan hit the Six on last ball to win the match
