TYPES OF IMMIGRANTS
1. Temporary labor migrants (OFW)
 Are people who migrate to a country for a

specified and limited period of time, and usually


undertaken for an employment.
2. Highly skilled and business migrants
 an employee who works for a recognized sponsor

on the basis of a work contract and fulfills specific


age, salary and experience requirements.
3. Illegal migrants
 a foreign person who is living in a country without

having official permission to live there.

4. Refugees
 are people who have fled war, violence, conflict or
persecution and have crossed an international border to find
safety in another country.
5. Asylum seekers
 is a person who has left their country and is seeking
protection from persecution and serious human rights
violations in another country, but who hasn't yet been legally
recognized as a refugee and is waiting to receive a decision on
their asylum claim.

If our goal is to slow migration, then the best way
to do so is to work for a more equitable global
system. But slowing immigration is an odd goal,
if the real problem is global inequality.
