1. APPROPRIATENESS
- IM must promote the general and specific
goals of the class.
- IM must be appropriate to the intended
level , vocabulary level, difficulty of concepts,
methods of development, interest and appeal.

MEANINGFULNESS
- Determined by the age and special needs of students.
- A material will have meaning and relevance to child if it
is age-appropriate, interesting, user-friendly, related to
real life and addressing a wide range of topics.

FEASIBILITY

Related to availability of materials, cost and your

ability and skill to use the material properly.

INTEREST
IM must catch the interest of the
learners, must stimulate curiosity or
satisfy the learners need to know.

ORGANIZATION
IM must be well organized and well
balance in content.
The purpose of the material must be
clearly stated and perceived.

FAIR AND RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY

IM should be representations from a wide

range of cultural groups, observe sensitivity
to cultural issues and offer fair treatment of
ethnic groups.

MECHANICAL QUALITIES

-Consider the color, texture, and quality of

materials.
-For special education purposes, it is often
advisable to use natural color of the object for
instructional purposes.

DURABILITY
The IM is durable and can be used
multiple times if stored properly.
