I. University

Vision: PSAU envisions to become a leading Premier university of Science, arts and technology in
Agroecological, environmental and industrial management under a culture of Unity and
teamwork for excellence.

Mission: Mainstream the advancement and practice of agro-ecological, environmental and industrial
science-based theories and technologies through cutting-edge instruction, research, extension
and technology-business incubation for people and nature.

Core Values: Community of hardworking and dedicate constituents, inspired by a culture of unity and
teamwork for excellence, guided by the Almighty.

II. College

Goal: To train committed educators devoted to their duty of helping individuals grow into creative,
active and upright citizens of their own community and country, and to promote relevant
research and extension services.

Bachelor of Secondary Education Program Objectives:

1. To prepare prospective teachers who are competent, confident and committed in handling
different subjects in the secondary school;

2. To equip prospective teachers with the necessary skills in effectively facilitating the
learning process for high school students;

3. To guide students to become advocates of high moral integrity and desirable Filipino
values; and,

4. To promote students' interest in research, extension services and production as part of


their training in the teaching profession.

IV. Program/ Degree Outcomes:

a. Articulate and discuss latest development in the specific field of practice (PQF Level 6 descriptor)
b. Effectively communicates orally in writing.
c. Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams
d. Act in recognition of professional, social and ethical responsibility.
e. Preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage” (RA 7722)
f. Have the basic and higher level literacy, communication, numeracy, critical thinking, learning skills needed
for the higher learning.
g. Have a deep and principled understanding of the learning processes and the role of the mathematics
teacher in facilitating these processes in their students.
h. Have a deep and principled understanding of how mathematics educational process relate to larger
historical, social, cultural, and political processes.
i. Have a meaningful and comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter ( ENGLISH, GENERAL SCIENCE,
MATH,TLE and MAPEH) they will teach.
j. Can apply a wide range of ENGLISH, GENERAL SCIENCE, MATH,TLE and MAPEH teaching process skills
(including curriculum development, lesson planning, materials development, educational assessment, and
teaching approaches).
k. Have direct experience in the field/classroom (e.g., classroom observations, teaching assistance, practice
teaching).
l. Can demonstrate and practice he professional and ethical requirements of the teaching professions.
m. Can facilitate learning of diverse types of learners, in diverse types of learning environments, using a wide
range of science teaching knowledge and skills.

n. Can reflect on the relationships among the science teaching process skills, the learning processing in the
students, the nature of the content/subject matter science, and the broader social forces encumbering the
school and educational processes in order to constantly improve their teaching knowledge, skills and
practices.
o. Can be creative and innovative in thinking of alternative science teaching approaches, take informed risks in
trying out these innovative approaches, and evaluate the effectiveness of such approaches in improving
student learning.

COURSE DESCRIPTION This course provides a holistic view of communication as a vehicle for
understanding. It is designed to make the students improve their oral
communication skills through an understanding and internalization of the
importance, characteristics, essential aspects and mechanics of speech,
language and communication.
