Ms Outlook Configuration & Backup - Step by Step

MsOutlook is mail recipient

which connects to your mail
server on Ms-Exchange server or
IMAP server like Gmail, Hotmail
etc.
Open the Outlook app installed
in from start menu and you will
see Welcome screen.
Click Next to Continue

Note that, this is one time job
setting up mail account to send
& receive mail in Outlook
Select Yes & Click continue.
When you click next , IF your mail server is
Microsoft Exchange server, Outllook will try
to find your email address automatically with
reference to your login id in windows OS.
You will see your name / email id in grayed
out while it is processing.
On successful processing outlook will
complete its configuration automatically &
Opens up landing page of Outlook.
In case of some old Ms Exchange servers
(prior to Exchange Server 2010 ) you need to
give this details manually as shown in this
slide.
Outlook will process for the details given &
upon successful processed mail account it
completes the configuration & opens up the
landing page of outlook to read the messages
from Inbox.
Configure Gmail in Outlook
Now let us see how to configure Gmail in
Outlook
Before you start configuring your Gmail to Outlook, there are a
couple of things you need to do in Gmail:
Enable IMAP in Your Gmail Account
By default, the IMAP setting in Gmail is not activated. That is
why you need to turn on IMAP in your Gmail account. This step
allows Outlook to connect your account in order to download
and send messages.

Step 1: Open Gmail and click the gear icon in
the top right corner. Then click See all

Enable IMAP in Your Gmail Account

By default, the IMAP setting in Gmail

is not activated. 

Click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP

Gmail

Step 3: Under IMAP Access, click Enable

IMAP.
Step 4: Click Save Changes.
Go to Outlook Wizard

Step : Select on POP or IMAP & click next.

Add Details
Add Details of you Gmail Account & click next
Step 6: Your account setup is almost
complete, then click OK.
