Purpose & Importance of the induction & WHS

This Induction is to inform about wat is expected from each


and every employee, the ,management and the students to
prevent them from getting injured themselves and others,
also making them aware of the hazards that surround them in
their workplace.

WHS is also important because is a legal implementation also


to keep the business running because when an accident
occurred, activities has to stop to review the hazard and fix it
or remove it.

The WHS Act and WHS Regulations 2011 provide a


framework to secure the health and safety of workers and
workplaces by protecting workers and other persons against
harm to their health, safety and welfare through the
elimination of risks arising from work, in accordance with the
principle that workers and other persons should be given the
highest level of protection against harm to their health, safety
and welfare from hazards and risks arising from work as is
reasonably practicable.
2. Responsibilities

5. Hazard identification form

 The hazard identification form can be used to document hazards and risks at your workplace. Use one
form to document each hazard. Integrate all identified hazards and their control measures into the Safety
Action Plan to monitor and track the progress.
5. Risk Matrix

 A risk matrix is a matrix that is used during risk assessment to define the level of risk by considering the
category of probability or likelihood against the category of consequence severity. This is a simple
mechanism to increase visibility of risks and assist management decision making.
5. Hierarchy of control measures

 he ways of controlling risks are ranked from the highest level of protection and reliability to the lowest. This
ranking is known as the hierarchy of control measures.

 The hierarchy of control measures can be applied in relation to any risk.

 You must always aim to eliminate the risk, which is the most effective control. If this is not reasonably
practicable, you must minimise the risk by working through the other alternatives in the hierarchy.
