country. For example, to generate energy, one need
fossil fuels; and for industrial development, we
require mineral resources.

● Natural resources are getting scarce with the

increasing population, so it is essential to conserve
them. This empowers us as well as our future
generation to utilise the natural resources to the full
extent.

OVERSHOOT DAY?

Earth Overshoot Day marks the date

when humanity has exhausted nature's
budget for the year. For the rest of the year,
we are maintaining our ecological deficit
by drawing down local resource stocks and
accumulating carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere.
