• Each cell was assembled with a new CCM that was coated with Pt-black (5 mg/cm2) on one side
and Pt-C (0.3 mg/cm2) on another side

• Coated Ti-plate GDL was used with Pt-black side of the CCM in each cell (i.e., anode side)

• Both GDLs and the inner openings of the gaskets – all measured 50x50 mm (except for skyre 9)

• Skyre 11 was assembled using Likun’s instructions

Crossover Tests

Cell_T/anode_hum/cathode_hum = 65C/65C/65C

N2 to cathode and H2 to anode (both at 0.2l/min)

I (Amp)

Measurement done after 3 hours

(internal resistance was monitored for skyre 9 and

skyre 11, and it stabilized after 3 hours of
saturated gas flow)
Polarization Test

Cell_T/anode_hum/cathode_hum = 65C/65C/65C

N2 to cathode and H2 to anode (both at 0.2l/min)

Black - Skyre 11
Blue - Skyre 5 Measurement done after 3 hours (potential scanned from 10 to 170
mV, step 20 mV, 20 sec dwell at each step)

(internal resistance was monitored for skyre 9 and skyre 11, and it

stabilized after 3 hours. For skyre 5, the measurement was done

after overnight saturated gas flow – this is the protocol we were
using at first before we started monitoring the internal resistance)

Likun’s data

Skyre11 – cell assembled with Likun’s instructions, but the data could not be reproduced – the
pumped current is way lower! Likun did reproduce his earlier results by assembling a new cell last
week.
