Internet Protocol (IP) Address
The IP address allows each computer connected to the Internet to be identified. The IP address is like your
home address.

Internet Service Provider

In order to connect to the Internet, your computer is routed through the Internet Service Provider or ISP. An
ISP is a company that provides access to the Internet.

Communication (TCP/IP)
Once your computer connects to the Internet it must be able to communicate with other computers and
devices.

The Domain Name System (DNS)

Is a distributed database comprised of all the websites on the Internet and their corresponding IP addresses.

World Wide Web

Commonly referred to as the Web, is a system of interlinked, hypertext documents accessed through the
Internet. It enables the retrieval and display of text and media to your computer.

are online versions of information systems, which is “the process of and tools for storing,
managing, using, and gathering of data and communications in an organization.
