PRELIMINARIES

• SETTLING DOWN (reassurance & encouraging
words to eliminate anxieties)
• ICE BREAKER (any short icebreaker to calm
down)
• INTRODUCE THE TRAINING
STRESS MANAGEMENT AMONG HS STUDENTS

What is Stress?
 Physical, mental or emotional strain or tension;
 A specific response by the body to a stimulus, as fear or
pain, that disturbs or interferes with the normal
physiological equilibrium.
• *Physiology – biological process and function
• *Equilibrium - a balance or stability of the mind
DID YOU EXPERIENCE STRESS? OR HAVE
YOU EXPERIENCED GOING THROUGH
STRESS?
ACTIVITY
• INSTRUCTIONS

• The class will be divided into four to five groups.


• The teacher will give four or five cut outs of manila paper for
every group.
• Each member of the group may write his own stressors
(experienced currently or in the past).
• A member will post their outputs on the board for presentation.
• One or two members will read their outputs to the class.

2. What symptoms or effects did you observe
when you were stressed?
(These are habits, moods, engagements,
physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, etc.)
SHARING OF EXPERIENCES
• 1. What did you do in order to cope with stress?
(self-coping mechanisms)
• 2. Did somebody (a teacher, a friend or family
member) help you so you can cope with stress?
What did he/she do in order to help you?
• 3. In what way can you help someone in your
school or family who is experiencing stress?
