What is pollution?

Pollution is the introduction of harmful

materials into the environment. These
harmful materials are called pollutants.
Pollutants can be natural, such as
volcanic ash. They can also be created
by human activity, such as trash or
runoff produced by factories.

3
Why pollution is a problem?
Pollution stunts economic growth, exacerbates poverty and inequality in
both urban and rural areas and significantly contributes to climate
change. Poor people, who cannot afford to protect themselves from the
negative impacts of pollution, end up suffering the most.
10 types of pollution: Air pollution. Water pollution. Soil pollution. Noise
pollution. Radioactive pollution. Light pollution. Thermal pollution.
The main types are Water, Air, and Land pollution.

This is what we are about to discuss.

4
POLLUTIONS
The most common, air pollution, the contamination of air
due to the presence of substances in the atmosphere that
are harmful to the health of humans and other living
beings, or cause damage to the climate or to materials.
There are many different types of air pollutants, such as
gases, particulates, and biological molecules.

5
POLLUTIONS

Water pollution, the contamination of water bodies, usually as a

result of human activities, so that it negatively affects its uses.
Water bodies include lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers, reservoirs
and groundwater. Water pollution results when contaminants
are introduced into these water bodies.

6
POLLUTIONS

Land pollution refers to the deterioration of the earth's

land surfaces, at and below ground level. The cause is
the accumulation of solid and liquid waste materials that
contaminate groundwater and soil.

7
POLLUTIONS
The common cause of pollution is us humans, this
pollution, will soon destroy our earth. To save our
earth, it is for us humans to move, and solve this
problem.

8
POLLUTIONS
Common ways to solve this is to: Reduce the number of
trips you take in your car. Reduce or eliminate fireplace
and wood stove use. Avoid burning leaves, trash, and
other materials. Avoid using gas-powered lawn and
garden equipment.

9
EFFECTS
Exposure to high levels of air pollution can cause a variety of
adverse health outcomes. It increases the risk of respiratory
infections, heart disease and lung cancer. Both short and long
term exposure to air pollutants have been associated with health
impacts. More severe impacts affect people who are already ill.
Water pollution affects aquamarine animals, or sea animals. and
land pollution affects plants
