Cycle ball

What is cyclobol?
• Cycloball is a sport that takes place on mountain bikes on a hard ground
court similar to futsa.

• It was created in 1893 by a German-American, Nicholas Edward Kaufmann


and the first world championships were held in the year 1929. The
Czechoslovakian brothers, Jindřich and Jan Pospíšil, won the most world
championships with twenty victories between 1965 and 1988.
What is needed?
• The teams are made up of 2 to 4 cyclists-players, the objective being to
introduce the ball into the opposite goal, usually hitting it with the front
wheel. During the game, only one player can be inside the penalty area and
can use his hands to prevent the opponent's goal, as a goalkeeper.

• The field of play is the same size for international competitions is 14 by 11


meters, with the goal of 2 by 2 meters. The penalty area, it's a semicircle over
the goal and hold on

• The ball must be between 17 and 34 centimeters in diameter and its weight
must range between 500 and 600 grams.

• Game Time According to the categories, the time of each game varies, being
2 times of 45 minutes for elite players.
What characterizes the bicycles that are
used for the normal cycle?
• The bike is characterized by its high handlebars to facilitate precision
maneuvers, the saddle behind the rear wheel axis to facilitate
wheelies, and a low transmission that can go from 2 to 3.2 meters.
The wheels must be of the same size, not allowing the use of a
wheel greater than 26, nor less than 20. If during the course of the
game a player breaks his bicycle, he can change it.

• The International Cycling Union is the one who regulates this sport
under the term "Indoor Cycling" and like the other disciplines
governed by the UCI, the world champions wear the Rainbow Jersey.
