GLOBAL HUNGER:

AN ISSUE OF CONCERN
INTRODUCTION
 Global Hunger Index (GHI) is a tool that attempts to
measure and track hunger globally as well as by region and by
country.
 GHI captures the multidimensional nature of hunger.
 The 2022 Global Hunger Index shows a dramatic hunger
situation worldwide.
SAVE  On the values of the four indicators, a GHI Score is calculated
FOOD on a 100-point scale reflecting the severity of hunger, where 0
is the best possible score (no hunger) and 100 is the worst.

• India again dropped down
in the GHI.
• India is ranked 107th of

• Its position slips from 101
in 2021 to 107 in 2022.
• GHI uses an erroneous

doesn‘t take account of
entire population
representation.

A DIGITAL INITIATIVE
TO COMBAT HUNGER
 An app can be made for eradicating the
problem of different people facing the
condition of food insecurity.
 In this app, the people or areas prone to food
scarcity are registered or marked with the
help of which people wishing to give away or
donate the food items can locate the places
easily and help the needy.
 This app can help the world fight the problem
of hunger and can help to achieve the SDG of
Zero Hunger as early as possible.
