Department Activities

At present, the department activities is limited only to the following

conventional NDT methods :

1.Radiographic Testing (RT)

2.Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

3.Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT)

4.Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT)

Objectives
The Department seeks to achieve the following objectives:

1. Non-destructive testing (NDT) - Conventional NDT

A. Skilled, Competent and Certified Manpower

B. ASNT Level 3 Services

C. Upgrade the existing Equipment and tools.

Objectives
The Department is planning to introduce and utilize the new advanced NDT Techniques for instance :
1. Rapid Motion Scanner – RMS

Capabilities

Corrosion mapping
hydrogen induced cracking
hydrogen blistering
internal coating failures
laminations etc.

3.High probability of detection

4.No paint removal required

(outside, vertical horizontal no scaffolding)

5.Integrated software for reporting , all the information is recorded when a

scan is saved

Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) :

Capabilities:

Any storage tank

Detect, size and map under bottom corrosion

4. No paint removal required

5. Integrated software provide a CAD drawing of the tank bottom with the
defects details for reporting , all the information is recorded when a scan is
saved.

The Department is planning to train and qualify selected personnel from the existing manpower in the field of

1.Plant Equipment Inspection

2.Welding Inspection
3.Coating Inspection
4.Lifting Equipment Inspection

to provide competent and certified inspectors as per the most reputable international schemes e.g. API CSWIP, CWI

Objectives
The Department is planning to introduce and utilize rope access inspection

(Inspection works, which are generally light duty

and only requires a relatively short duration at a
location of inspection)

Objectives
With cooperation with QHSE department the department aims to provide
the Quality Assurance Third Party Inspection service to our clients

Objectives
Training and Certification:
The department is planning to cooperate with most reputable
training and certification center like TWI .Mechanical institute and
AWS to reach any agreement to provide their services to our client
in Libya
