Augmented Reality:

Augmented reality is the integration of digital information

with the user's environment in real time. Unlike virtual
reality, which creates a totally artificial environment.

Example:
 Pokemon Go
Agumented Reality Vs Virtual Reality

 AR users can control their presence in the real world; VR users are controlled by the
system.
 AR uses a real-world setting while VR is completely virtual.
 VR requires a headset device, but AR can be accessed with a smartphone.
 AR enhances both the virtual and real world while VR only enhances a fictional reality.
POKEMON GO

 In Pokémon Go, players view digital Pokémon imposed on the real world via their mobile
device screens. Players must explore the physical world to find locations where Pokémon
appear in the digital one. AR represents the melding of the digital reality where the
Pokémon are and the analog reality in which we exist.
Disadvantages

 Pokémon Go’s public nature is also causing unforeseen side effects, attracting crowds
that disturb homeowners and creating opportunities for criminals to lure players to remote
areas where they can be targeted for theft. In Australia, police have issued tips for how
roving Pokémon Go players can safely play the game.
