HIGHER EDUCATION
• He want to cure his mother
• Aim was to reform Philippine society,
first by uncovering its ills and second, by
awakening the Filipino youth.
• Key to creating a class of Filipinos that
could lead the country to freedom and

1. Discrimination by his race- study hard in his studies and doing great at
his studies.
2. Having hard time at speaking Spanish - learning and took special classes
3. Limited allowance in studying abroad - Went to Germany due to its
cheaper schools
4. No funds on publishing his works - borrowed money and look for
cheaper publishing house
 -ACHIEVEMENTS-
• Consistent medalist
• Gained proficiency both in art of rhetoric and in arts of
philosophical independent thinking
• Obtained bachelor of arts degree with highest honors
• Qualified for membership into exclusive societes at Ateneo
• Develop professional skills at europe
• Degree of medicine was conferred to him
• Recieved licentiate in Philosophy and Letters
• Learned other languages - Greek, Latin, Arabic, Dutch
and many more
• Became the National Hero of the Philippines
