TYPES OF NUMBERS
Worked by: Rei Shamo
What are the types of numbers?
◦ Types of numbers are the categories where we classify numbers by their characteristics.
◦ The types of numbers are:
◦ Natural numbers
◦ Whole numbers
◦ Integers
◦ Rational Numbers
◦ Irrational Numbers
◦ Real Numbers
Venn Diagram of types of numbers
Natural Numbers(N), Whole Numbers(W)

◦ the positive integers (whole numbers) 1, 2, 3, etc., are called natural numbers.
◦ Whole numbers are the set of  natural numbers, including zero, i.e., {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, …}.
Rational(Q) and Irrational(I) numbers

◦ Rational numbers are the numbers which we can represent as a fraction, (ex.,3, 5, 0.5, etc.)
◦ Irrational numbers are numbers that cannot be represented as a fraction, (ex., pi, Square root of 2, etc.)
Integers(Z), Real numbers(R)
◦ Integers: This is the set of all whole numbers including the negatives, i.e., {… , ⁻2, ⁻1, 0, 1, 2, …}
◦ Real numbers include EVERY number in the number line, ex.,(1, 2, 3, -1, -2, -0.3432, etc.)
POPULATION

Population density!
◦ So first of all what is population density.Well from the name we might have already
understood what it is but still: Population density is a measurement of population per
unit area, or exceptionally unit volume; it is a quantity of type number density. It is
frequently applied to living organisms, most of the time to humans. It is a key
geographical term.In simple terms, population density refers to the number of people
living in an area per square kilometre. Population density is the number of people per
unit of area, usually quoted per square kilometre or square mile, and which may
include or exclude for example areas of water or glaciers. Commonly this may be
calculated for a county, city, country, another territory or the entire world.
Population density of the whole world.
◦ The world's population is around 7,800,000,000 and Earth's total area
(including land and water) is 510,000,000 km2 (197,000,000 sq.
mi.). Therefore, from this very crude type of calculation, the worldwide human
population density is approximately 7,800,000,000 ÷ 510,000,000 = 15.3 per
km2 (40 per sq. mi.). However, if only the Earth's land area of
150,000,000 km2 (58,000,000 sq. mi.) is taken into account, then human
population density is 50 per km2 (129 per sq. mi.). This includes all continental
and island land area, including Antarctica. Furthermore, if Antarctica is also
excluded, then population density rises to over 55 people per km2 .
Population density of 2 cities in Albania.
◦ So lets find the population density for 2 cities in Albania,I will choose Tirana and Durres, but first of all we need to
know the formula to find the population density. So to find population density we need 2 things the population of a city
and its area in Km square or Miles square ,so the formula to find the population density :

Population
◦ Population density= ___________

Area
Population density of Tirana.

◦ The population of Tirana is approximately 895,000.

◦ The area of Tirana is 1,652 Km2.
◦ So lets start the calculations.
895,000
◦ Population density of Tirana=______________ =541 People/Km2
1,652
Population Density of Durres.

◦ Population of Durres=292,029
◦ Area of Durres=766 km2

292,029
◦ Population density of Durres=_____________
=381 People/Km2
766
Population density of 2 states.

Lets take Mexico and California.

Mexico Population=128,000,000 Area=1,972,550Km2
California Population=39,000,000
Area= 423,970 km2
Calculating population density of Mexico

128,000,000
◦ Population density of Mexico=__________
=65 People/km2
1,972,550
Calculating the population density of
California.

◦ Population density of California=__________

39,000,000
=92 People/Km2
423,970
PERCENTAGE
Adion Buci
What is percentage?

◦ Percentage is a way to tell us how much of

something there is.
◦ A percentage is a dimensionless
number (pure number); it has no unit
of measurement.
What IS percentage?
◦ Percentage literally means ‘per 100 pieces’ of anything, wich is one way of specifying the fraction of a complete whole.
◦ Simply put , a percentage value is a fraction multiplied by 100.
◦ A portion of the whole: a part.
◦ A way of representing a fraction with the denominator of 100.
◦ 15\100=0.5
HISTORY OF PERCENTAGE
◦
◦In Ancient Rome, long before the existence of the decimal system, computations were often
made in fractions in the multiples of 1/100. For example,Augustus,  levied a tax of 1/100 on goods
sold at auction known as centesima rerum venalium. Computation with these fractions was
equivalent to computing percentages.
◦As denominations of money grew in the Middle Ages, computations with a denominator of 100
became increasingly standard, such that from the late 15th century to the early 16th century, it
became common for arithmetic texts to include such computations. Many of these texts applied
these methods to profit and loss, interest rates, and the Rule of Three. By the 17th century, it was
standard to quote interest rates in hundredths.
How to calculate percentage?
◦ I invite you to to watch a video on how to calculate percentage.I think it would be much easier to understand.

PERSONAL AND
HOUSEHOLD FINANCE.
Junis Azo
Personal and household finance.
◦ Personal finance is the financial management which an individual or a family unit performs to budget, save, and
spend monetary resources over time, taking into account various financial risks and future life events.[1]
◦ When planning personal finances, the individual would consider the suitability to his or her needs of a range of
banking products (checking, savings accounts, credit cards and consumer loans) or investment in private equity,
(companies' shares, bonds, mutual funds) and insurance (life insurance, health insurance, disability insurance)
products or participation and monitoring of and- or employer-sponsored retirement plans, social security benefits,
and income tax management.
Personal and household finance.
Today im gone ask 3 relatives for their monthly income and their monthly deduction(act of taking away something (such
as an amount of money) from a totat).Im gone calculate too that how much yearly income those 3 relatives get,and
well their yearly deduction.
Personal and household finance.
◦ The 1st relative gets an monthly income of 450$ and he spends 200$ of that monthly income, therefor for e year they would get
5400$ and his yearly deduction would be 2400$ and he would save 250$ per month, and by a year he would save 3000$ in a
year.Therefor he would spend 44.4% of his yearly income.
◦ The 2nd relative gets a monthly income of 800$ and he spend 500$ of it,therefor by a year he would get a 9600$ yearly income
and spend 6000$ from the yearly income therefor he spends 62.5% of the yearly income.
◦ The 3rd relative gets a monthly income of 650$ and 250$ of it,therefor by a year he would get a 7800$ yearly income and
spend 3000$ of it and he spends 38.56% of that yearly income.
Name Monthly income Yearly Income Monthly Yearly Net pay Net pay
Deduction Deduction (month) (year)

A 450$ 5400$ 200$ 2400 200$ 3000$

B 800$ 9600$ 500$ 6000$ 300$ 3600$

C 650$ 7800$ 250$ 3000$ 350$ 4800$
