Hypothesi
s
My Hypothesis is
that boys will
have more
cumulative hours
of exercise per
week than girls.
Sampling Method

Analysis of Sampling Method: The

sampling method is convenience
method. I asks my classmates, and
Sampling Method: I they were already in class to where I

complete as well, it didn’t take me

responses that they An advantage of this method is that
there were already 12 boys and 12
gave me. girls in my AMDM class. I was able to
collect the right amount of data from
both genders.
DATA •Hours per Week
(Males)
•15 data points were
collected for each
• 24, 12, 5, 14, 15, 10, 9, male and female
9, 3, 3, 8, 18, 7, 23, 4 students

•Hours per Week

Female 5.4

Male 11
Female 3
• Everything on the males is higher. Except for
quartile one which was even. Everything else
is much higher on the males. With the data I
FIVE NUMBER have collected it would indicate that males
exercise greater hours per week on average
SUMMARY per week than females.
AND • The median hours for males is 9 ½ and the
median female hours is 5.Which is greater by
BOXPLOTS 4 ½. Therefore the median measure would
indicate that males have more hours per
ANALYSIS week of exercise than females.
• The IQR for male and female is not very
close. The spread for males is much larger
while on the contrary the spread for females
it's much more compact. The male has an
outlier of 23 hours .
Frequency Table
Histograms
• Both male and female histograms are
skewed right. For the males it's median (9
½). Then for the females it's mean (5.4) .
• For males it would be the median because
Histogram the data consists of greater numbers over a
stretch of the data. On the other hand, the
Analysis female data is consistent, so the mean would
be greater than the median.
• One thing I noticed in the female histogram
that it dropped off a lot as the hours
increased.
• Males: I am going to calculate the percentile of the 10
hour data point.

• 15 total points, 9 males greater or equal too 10.

• 9/15= 0.60

Percentile This male is in the 60th percentile for hours of exercise

per week.
• Females: I am going to calculate the percentile for the
6 hour data point.
• 15 total points, 12 females greater or equal too 6.
• 12/15=0.80
• This male is in the 80th percentile for hours of exercise
per week.
Summary
• In conclusion my data set supports my
hypothesis, that males In Mr. Ritters 5th
period AMDM class tend to have more
cumulative hours than females. I
conclude this observation because every
single data point in each corresponding
plot, histogram, or summary indicates
that males have greater hours
cumulatively per week than females. In
every single category besides the first
quartile which is even. Males have higher
numbers then females.
